Sendero de Mandeo por Terras de Aranga. Coruña.

Esta semana toca una nueva ruta de senderismo O Mandeo por Terras de Aranga. La dificultad era baja/media con un desnivel de unos 350 metros y un total de 15km. Es un sendero semicircular y por tanto sencillo para poder dejar los coches y recogerlos al finalizar la excursión. Si quiero informar que en esta época hay que tener cuidado con los horarios de luz natural. En Otoño-Invierno el día es más corto y hay que programar bien para que no nos coja la noche .

La caminata la empezamos paseando por un bosque de árboles de hoja caduca donde los colores otoñales se podían observar y disfrutar de las alfombras de hojas en tonos terracota. La decisión era hacer el rio Mandeo y su afluente el Rego de Cambás pasando por el municipio de Aranga.

La excursión fue espectacular y muy bien dirigida pero las sorpresas las encontrábamos por doquier.

En cuanto a la fauna, podemos decir que las truchas, caracoles, moluscos, anguilas y salmón hacen que este rio sea uno de los mayores cotos de pesca de la zona, gracias a sus aguas.

En el concello de Aranga existen dos rutas señalizadas una la Veiga do Mandeo y el Val de Cambás, la cual, presenta muchas dificultades así que solo visitamos un pequeño tramo y regresando para tomar la ruta de Veiga do Mandeo que andaremos durante 7 km pero que luego la modificamos gracias a nuestros guías viendo cosas nuevas y un recorrido diferente.

Así que empezamos “es un decir” nuestra ruta por el este de la aldea de Fragachá, para bajar hasta la presa que existe en el río Cambás (afluente del Mandeo); desde donde contemplamos todo lo largo de la pista situada en “Pozo do Castro Rodicio”, as “Fragas das Barbudas” en todo su esplendor natural. 

Dimos la vuelta volviendo a la aldea Fragachá y cogiendo una pista  que de cara al Norte, recorren los montes de A Fragachá y dirigiéndonos al monte Penedo do Boi y luego al Serrón Gordo.  Desde este punto teníamos una vista de 360ª pudiendo ver Coruña por el Oeste y la costa ferrolana, por la cara norte la comarca de As Pontes, en el Este el límite de división de las provincias de Coruña y Lugo con la sierra de Loba y la Coba da Serpe y por el Sur Montesalgueiro y Teixeiro. Fue en este tramo donde encontramos el desnivel de 350 metros más o menos pero sin dificultad. Las vistas eran espectaculares porque además el día fue soleado, por lo menos, durante la mañana algo que nos sorprendió porque el sábado había caído lluvia para aburrir durante todo el día. Allí paramos para contemplar las vistas y para tomar unos frutos secos ya que decidimos avanzar al máximo ya que las previsiones meteorológicas decían que a partir de las 5 de la tarde podría empezar a llover de nuevo.

Luego continuamos por las pistas del parque Eólico descendiendo por la cara de A Vila de Pereira para continuar bajando cerca de las casas abandonadas de o Outeiro llegando a la aldea de A Veiga.  Desde ese punto descendimos  hasta el cauce del río Mandeo donde encontramos los restos de un antiguo molino . Tomamos el corredor verde poblado de vegetación fluvial y bordeado por arboles por todo el cauce del río. Durante todo el recorrido disfrutamos de avellanos, sauces y abedules salpicados por helechos y grandes cantidades de setas que daban color al paraje. Solo en algún momento nos adentramos en el bosque dejando el sendero del rio ya que varios tramos se encontraban inundados y eso hizo que disfrutáramos de los aromas de la tierra mojada, las hojas en descomposición  y la contemplación de los robles, castaños y cañizar  que se encontraba por doquier, aunque hay zonas donde el eucalipto es el rey y su aroma era inconfundible.

Subimos por el margen derecho hasta los montes de Bragaña,  llegando a un moderno puente de pescadores que nos permitió pasar al margen izquierdo del río y llegar a la aldea de Seoane.  A partir de aquí, continuamos nuestro recorrido hasta el final pero siempre bordeando el rio y disfrutando de la energía que dan las aguas que bajaban con fuerza y con mucho caudal.

El lugar merece la pena por su belleza natural como todos los sitios que nos ofrece esta maravillosa región y al que invito desde aquí a visitar. Os dejo el mapa de recorrido por si alguien se anima y le interesa hacerlo en otra época. Evidentemente, en Otoño y en Primavera son las dos estaciones tótem para poder hacerlo y ver todo el esplendor del lugar. No olvidéis antes, llevar GPS o bien informaros del lugar. Path of Mandeo by Terras de Aranga. Coruña

This week a new hiking trail O Mandeo touches Terras de Aranga. The difficulty was low / medium with a difference of about 350 meters and a total of 15km. It is a semicircular path and therefore simple to leave the cars and pick them up at the end of the tour. If I want to inform you that in this season you have to be careful with the natural daylight hours. In Autumn-Winter the day is shorter and you have to program well so that you do not take the night.

We started the walk by walking through a forest of deciduous trees where the autumnal colors could be seen and enjoy the carpets of leaves in terracotta tones. The decision was to make the river Mandeo and its tributary the Rego de Cambás through the municipality of Aranga.

The excursion was spectacular and very well directed but the surprises were everywhere.

As for the fauna, we can say that trout, snails, molluscs, eels and salmon make this river one of the largest fishing grounds in the area, thanks to its waters.

In the concello of Aranga there are two signposted routes, the Veiga do Mandeo and the Val de Cambás, which presents many difficulties so we only visit a small section and return to take the Veiga do Mandeo route that we will walk for 7 km but that then we modified it thanks to our guides seeing new things and a different route.

So we started "it's a saying" our route through the east of the village of Fragachá, to go down to the dam that exists in the Cambás River (Mandeo tributary); from where we contemplate all along the track located in "Pozo do Castro Rodicio", as "Fragas das Barbudas" in all its natural splendor. We turned around returning to the Fragachá village and taking a track that facing north, cross the mountains of A Fragachá and heading to the Penedo do Boi mountain and then to the Serrón Gordo. From this point we had a 360º view, being able to see Coruña on the west and the Ferrol coast, on the north side the As Pontes region, on the east the division limit of the provinces of Coruña and Lugo with the Sierra de Loba and the Coba da Serpe and on the south Montesalgueiro and Teixeiro. It was in this section where we found the difference of 350 meters more or less but without difficulty. The views were spectacular because the day was also sunny, at least, during the morning something that surprised us because Saturday had fallen rain to bore all day. There we stopped to contemplate the views and to take some nuts as we decided to advance to the maximum as the weather forecasts said that from 5 o'clock in the afternoon it could start to rain again.

Then we continue along the tracks of the wind farm descending the face of A Vila de Pereira to continue down near the abandoned houses of Outeiro arriving at the village of A Veiga. From that point we descended to the channel of the Mandeo River where we find the remains of an old mill. We take the green corridor populated by river vegetation and bordered by trees along the riverbed. Throughout the tour we enjoyed hazel trees, willows and birches dotted with ferns and large amounts of mushrooms that gave color to the landscape. Only at some point we entered the forest leaving the path of the river as several sections were flooded and that made us enjoy the aromas of the wet earth, the decomposing leaves and the contemplation of the oaks, chestnuts and cañizar that I found everywhere, although there are areas where the eucalyptus is the king and its aroma was unmistakable.

We climbed the right margin to the mountains of Bragaña, arriving at a modern fishing bridge that allowed us to go to the left bank of the river and reach the village of Seoane. From here, we continue our journey to the end but always skirting the river and enjoying the energy given by the waters that fell with force and with much flow.

The place is worth it for its natural beauty as all the sites that this wonderful region offers us and which I invite from here to visit. I leave the route map in case someone is encouraged and interested in doing it in another time. Evidently, in Autumn and Spring are the two totem stations to do so and see all the splendor of the place. Do not forget before, bring GPS or inform yourself about the place.
