Este año he
ido a ver las luces de Vigo, tan famosas y
Siempre he ido
por Europa porque me quedaba más cerca de donde vivía pero después de mi
traslado, he optado por visitar diferentes ciudades de España para ver la
iluminación navideña.
Soy una fan de
las luces de Navidad y siempre que puedo visito ciudades para ver la
iluminación y la decoración navideña, que al final, es la que te envuelve y te
hace comprar y sentir la Navidad en su esplendor.
Este año
visité las de Barcelona, yo soy de allí, y las de Madrid, lamentando decir que
fuera de los centros muy céntricos, las luces brillaban por su ausencia y donde
estaban… pues eran bonitas pero no fueron nada del otro mundo, en ambas
ciudades.
Así que me
dije: “este año iré, además, a ver las de Vigo”, que hace dos años que critican
al alcalde por tanto “despilfarro” y ver con mis propios ojos la realidad. Pues
bien, debo aplaudir a su Excelentísimo Alcalde, que aunque hay cosas que
criticar, el tema de las luces de Navidad lo ha bordado.
No solo son
bonitas, de diseño, alegran la ciudad, dan vida e incentivan al ciudadano y
visitante a comprar, a integrarse en la magia navideña que muchos hemos
perdido, lamentablemente con los años. Estás en la ciudad y al partir de las
18h la magia te envuelve y te vuelve alegre con ganas de tomar un chocolate,
una copa contemplando un árbol de luces que cambia de colores al compás de la
música y que a todos nos embelesaba una y otra vez… sus callecitas pequeñas con
detalles de luces a medida de las dimensiones, otras forrando sus arbolitos con
redes de luces que hacían de cuento sus callejuelas y la calle principal que
era todo bullicio y luz, alegría y color… NAVIDAD.
No solo hay
que ver o criticar el gasto, también hay que evaluar el ingreso que todo esto
aporta a la ciudad, ya que los hoteles estaban llenos, las tiendas con gente
comprando, los restaurante igual y las cafeterías y copas a rebosar en un
jueves normal y corriente.
La gente, los
visitantes, disfrutábamos del lugar y su ambiente de sus buenas tiendas y de un
entorno que se ha perdido poco a poco en muchos lugares, en nombre de los
“recortes”, perjudicando más a la ciudad que ahorrando en la administración. En
fin… no soy yo quien debe pensar en pros y contras, son las alcaldías.
No olvidemos
que unas cosas son gastos y otras las inversiones y aunque a veces sea difícil
diferenciarlos, hay que hacer el esfuerzo de verlo con perspectiva, solo así se
avanza y se da empuje a las ciudades promocionándolas y dándole opciones de
vida y supervivencia. Eso es VISION.
Que quede
claro que no soy de Vigo, ni tengo ningún interés económico o de cualquier otra
índole, yo vivo en Coruña pero como dije en un principio, al César lo que es
del César, y espero que se nos pegue lo bueno de todo esto, que también lo
tiene.
Os invito a
visitar la ciudad donde las luces permanecerán abiertas hasta mediados de
Enero, si no me equivoco y ya me diréis.

VIGO AND ITS LIGHTS
This year I
went to see the lights of Vigo, so famous and criticized. But as they taught
me: To Cesar what is Cesar. They are the best I've seen in the last three
years.
I've always
been to Europe because I stayed closer to where I lived but after my transfer,
I chose to visit different cities in Spain to see the Christmas lights.
I am a fan of
the Christmas lights and whenever I can I visit cities to see the lighting and
the Christmas decoration, which in the end, is what surrounds you and makes you
buy and feel Christmas in its splendor.
This year I
visited the ones in Barcelona, I am from there, and those in Madrid,
regretting to say that outside the centers very central, the lights shone by
their absence and where they were ... well they were beautiful but they were
not anything special, in both cities.
So I said to
myself: "This year I will go, also, to see those of Vigo", that two
years ago they criticize the mayor, therefore "waste" and see with my
own eyes the reality. Well, I must applaud your Excellency Mayor, that although
there are things to criticize, the theme of the Christmas lights has
embroidered it.
Not only are
they beautiful, they design, they make the city happy, they give life and
encourage the citizen and visitor to buy, to become part of the Christmas magic
that many of us have lost, unfortunately over the years. You are in the city
and from 18h the magic envelops you and makes you happy with the desire to
drink a chocolate, a glass contemplating a tree of lights that changes colors
to the beat of the music and that all of us loved each other time ... its small
streets with details of lights to measure of the dimensions, others lining
their trees with networks of lights that made fairy its streets and the main
street that was all hustle and light, joy and color ... CHRISTMAS.
Not only do we
have to see or criticize the expense, we also have to evaluate the income that
all this brings to the city, since the hotels were full, the stores with people
buying, the restaurants alike and the cafes and drinks to overflow on a
Thursday ordinary.
The people,
the visitors, we enjoyed the place and its environment of its good shops and of
an environment that has been lost little by little in many places, in the name
of the "cuts", harming the city more than saving in the
administration. Anyway ... I'm not the one who should think about pros and
cons, they are the mayor's offices.
Do not forget
that some things are expenses and other investments and although it is sometimes
difficult to differentiate them, we must make the effort to see it with
perspective, only that way we advance and push the cities promoting them and
giving them life and survival options. That is VISIÓN.
Let it be
clear that I am not from Vigo, nor do I have any economic or any other
interest, I live in Coruña but as I said at the beginning, to César what is of
César, and I hope that we get the good of all this , who also has it.
I invite you
to visit the city where the lights will remain open until mid-January, if I'm
not mistaken and you'll tell me.
