"Operation bikini": A great business.
Women have started a new stage of social visibility but we still let ourselves be cajoled by those powerful marketing campaigns that bombard us every summer. The objective: See us and see us perfect, a utopia, which in many cases does us more harm than good but far from thinking and seeing it we continue to let ourselves go and convince.

The messages are varied but very strong. Well thought out for female psychology and always gives where it hurts most to convince us: "Get a flat stomach in a few days. Elevate your buttocks without hardly moving. Mark abdominals while you sleep. Discover the trainings with which you will burn fat ...

Ladies and gentlemen, the summer season is full of promises and illusions without solution in five days, no matter how much they tell us, but that illusion for the impossible is transformed into many millions of benefits at the expense of our ability to believe in the impossible.

We try to hold on to these miraculous diets because in June we have to show heart but we remember 15 days before. Only when a diet is planned and carried out all year round, without stress or hurry, little by little the result will be positive and lasting. Only sacrifice gives results in these cases.
We see how the months of good purposes reappear watching the gyms to the top, destroying us, reaching exhaustion, drinking liquids of strange colors and unappetizing, sweating like possessed, counting calories and kilometers ... then going out at night and drinking several beers or a couple of drinks that add more to the calories burned in that day.

It is physically impossible to mark 'six pack' in 100 days, unless you have a will of iron, have an iron workout and have a severe diet, only then maybe you can show it off but it is not a titanic effort for the summer , if not do things little by little to look all year. This is more real and much healthier. But do not take it to obsession.
If you want to keep the scale at bay, lose weight or just stay how you are, what you have to do is walk, move a little more "We are obsessed with losing kilos when what we should do is concentrate on gaining muscle mass".

Why? "The muscle not only has a structural function, it also develops an important endocrine activity: it participates in the release into the bloodstream of certain hormones that affect the caloric expenditure." That is, the more muscular you are, the more calories you will consume, even at rest. Unlike the training that has now become so fashionable that affect the power and speed (hiit) as supposed fat burning, it is recommended "to induce a metabolic change in the body, through the strengthening of muscle mass." In this way, we will achieve that "that hour of exercise that we do affects the remaining 23 of the day, that our muscles keep pulling energy while we are sitting, sleeping, etc".
Why at age 20 we ate everything without gaining weight and from a certain age any little thing does not make us sprout michelin? "Because, after 30, we started losing muscle mass, which is the one that pulls our fat reserves." This painful reality explains one of the great mysteries of humanity: why am I not the same if I weigh the same? "Well, because their kilos before were muscle and now they have turned into fat." A pity, but everything has a remedy in this life.

As proclaimed by the World Health Organization (WHO), obesity has doubled worldwide since 1980. In 2014, more than 1,900 million adults aged 18 or over were overweight, of which more than 600 million were obese That same year, 41 million children under the age of five suffered from this same problem. The majority of the world's population lives in countries where excess weight claims more lives than underweight (being below the weight that is considered healthy). The consequences for the health of this authentic food madness are terrible: cardiovascular diseases (mainly heart diseases and strokes), which were the main cause of death in 2012; diabetes; disorders of the locomotor system (especially osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease of the joints very disabling) and some cancers (endometrium, breast, ovaries, prostate, liver, gallbladder, kidneys and colon). Still not alarmed enough? Take note: in 2030, if things do not improve, Europe will face an epidemic of obesity, according to the WHO. This means that two out of every three Europeans will be obese and Spain is among the countries where a more brutal increase in these problems is expected.

Spain
According to data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), 16.6% of the Spanish population suffered from obesity in 2011, an index well above the 8.8% registered in 1993 and 13, 3% in 2003. The figure is slightly higher than the most current OECD average, standing at 15.5%. And the trend has continued worryingly upward. In 2016 it was announced that 39.3% of the Spanish population between 25 and 64 years of age is overweight and 21.6% is obese, according to an investigation -Prevalence of general obesity and abdominal obesity in the Spanish adult population (25 -64 years) 2014-2015- performed by the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) on data provided by the Nutritional Study of the Spanish Population (ENPE). It is considered overweight values of body mass index equal / superior 25 and obesity, body mass index equal / superior 30. Abdominal obesity was typified for waist values> 102 cm in men and> 88 cm in women. The report shows that the prevalence of overweight is higher in men than in women. Thus, among men, the weight increases in the group of 25-34 years, followed by 35-44 years; while among women it increases over the years. Do you want to calculate your body mass index? Divide your weight between your height in centimeters multiplied by two.

By communities
The highest rates of obesity are detected, according to this report, in the Principality of Asturias (25.7%) and Galicia (24.9%), followed by Andalusia (24.4%). On the contrary, the lowest are observed in the Balearic Islands (10.5%), Catalonia (15.5%) and the Basque Country (16.8%).
With these data, I think we should all be aware of controlling food intakes, especially those that are loaded with empty calories, fats and sugars.
Let's not go crazy just in summer, try to be consistent and eat better all year round, including some sports. It's not about not living, it's about living better and with better quality. Let's stop the fat burning medications, the pills, etc ... constancy, sacrifice and perseverance is the only formula that works even if nobody likes it.
