Siempre me ha atraído el folklore y sobre todo si está

compuesto por tradición, colorido y sentido del humor “especial”. En Galicia se puede encontrar todo esto  y más , por ello, me fascina esta región y me atrae su cultura y tradición.

No es tiempo, todavía , de carnavales pero hablaré del Entroido gallego famoso y peculiar, interesante y lleno de color. Un desconocido que no merece serlo.

No todos los entroidos son iguales. Depende de lo que nos guste podemos decantarnos por uno u otro, por ejemplo, si nos gusta la acción hay que ver los cigarrons, pantallas, felos y peliquerios. Si queremos elegancia entonces hay que ir a cobres y Ulla pero tranquilos ahora explicaré cada uno de ellos y que podemos encontrar.

El entroido gallego es divertido y variopinto pero también tienen historia. Los antropólogos sitúan algunas de las vistosas representaciones carnavalescas de Galicia entre las más viejas de la península.

La comunidad cuenta con 8 fiestas de entroido declaradas de interés turístico. Pero hay otras de gran valor, como el caso del Oso de Salceda, merdeiros y choqueiros entre otros.

La provincia de Ourense es la que se lleva la palma ya que de los 8, 6 pertenecen a esta provincia. El entroido de Verín, Laza, Manzaneda, Maceda, Xinzo de Limia y Viana do Bolo. El resto pertenece a la provincia de Pontevedra donde encontramos (compartido con la Coruña) los Xenerais da Ulla, y Cobres.

El entroido de Viana do Bolo, combina los boteiros (mascarados y con trajes multicolores) y folóns, auténticas comparsas que recorren las aldeas. Los boteiros son los encargados de abrir el cortejo y anunciar el entroido de Viana do Bolo.

Macena guarda otro tesoro etnográfico en la figura de sus felos, personajes con máscara emparentada con los peliqueiros, aunque las medias que llevan son de color negro mientras que en Laza son blancas. Para poder disfrazarnos de felos hay una norma y es que hay que ser soltero.

Carnaval Manzaneda

En Manzaneda, Ourense, allí encontramos a los mázcaras, destacados bailarines con cara descubierta y con un cuidado tocado. También hay folions que son los que dan paso a los mázcaras. Además, tiene la foliada, una representación satírica en la que participan todos los personajes del carnaval serrano. Quizá sea el entroido más conocido, llamado el triángulo mágico que conforman los concellos de Verín, Laza y Xinzo de Limia, carnaval muy estudiado por el antropólogo Buero Vallejo. En esta zona se vive el carnaval de manera intensa y prolongada. El de Verín, con su elegante cigarrón cubierto su rostro de miradas ajenas y mala uva, que atiza a los viandantes con una fusta y que algunso sitúan su origen en un intransigente cobrador de impuestos. El entroido de Laza es el más madrugador, y arranca con el Venres de Folión. Pero su figura más  destacada es el peliqueiro, personaje singular a quien sí se le puede insultar pero no tocar. Xinzo tiene las fiestas de don Carnal más largas de España. Contemplando cinco fines de semana. Aquí la vistosidad de los trajes alcanza el paroxismo. Las pantallas lucen sus diseños hechos a mano y llevan en las manos globos fabricados con vejiga animal, que chocan entre sí para intimidar y vigilar que los ciudadanos se disfracen.

El entroido de Cobres es considerado el más chic de Galicia, por la elegancia y por la combinación de música y danza. Su origen podría estar en el mundo cortesano medieval, en el que la posición social estaba muy definida y marcaba qué lugar ocupaba uno socialmente. Trajes muy elaborados, juegos y baile de madamas y galáns.

Carnaval Maceda

Los Xenerais da Ulla tienen como protagonistas los caballos.

Hay referencias de su celebración en el siglo XIX, y su origen pudiera estar en lo burlesco de la guerra. Los xenerais y correos van de punta en blanco, con uniformes de gala y originales complementos en el que casi todo vale. Cada cual actúa como defensor o invasor, según las tornas. De gran valor etnográfico es el encuentro que hacen los protagonistas montados, que se cruzan en determinados puntos geográficos para establecer una batalla dialéctica. Son los llamados atranques o altos. Ejemplos en los que se apela a la destreza lingüística, semejante a la que realizan los regueifeiros.

Tips

Xinzo: De los mas largos del país y con un antiguo origen. Los actores principales son las pantallas, que entrechocan dos vejigas para asustar al personal y seducirlo para que se disfrace. (Santi M. Amil)

Manzaneda: Una tripleta festiva: máscaras, folión y foliada. El primero destaca por sus dotes de baile, danzando sobre un cajón. Los folións son comparsas, y la foliada, una representación satírica. (Lolita Vázquez)

Xenerais da Ulla: Un guiño surrealista que e mofa de las guerras. Los participantes de ambas riberas del río Ulla, la pontevedresa y la coruñesa, sacan el traje militar del armario y a lomos de caballos recorren aldeas y villas. Algunos de ellos se encuentran y simulan una batalla dialéctica denominada atranque, en el que dominar el arte de la oratoria es vital para desarmar al oponente.

Maceda: Los felos desfilan desafiantes con sus máscaras antiguas. Lucen medias negras, no blancas como sus parientes los peliqueiros y cigarróns. La tradición marca que solo los solteros pueden interpretar a un felo. (Santi M. Amil)

Laza: Los folions inician el carnaval con sus toques musicales, para dar paso a los auténticos protagonistas: los peliqueiros. Trajes y sombreros trabajados. Ah, no se les puede rozar… son muy vengativos. Cuidado porque durante el recorrido se acostumbra a tirar harina y hormigas.(Santi M. Amil)

Carnaval Verín

Cobres: El entroido más fino y elegante. Madamas y galáns bailan al son de la música enjoyados y envueltos en vestidos costosos y llenos de color. (capotillo)

Verín: El cigarrón, como su pariente de Laza, tienen malas pulgas. Atiza con sus fusta a quien se le ponga en el camino. Vestirse de cigarrón es un auténtico ritual para los verineses.( Miguel Villar)

Viana do Bolo: Además de darse un homenaje comiendo androlla, embutido calórico y montañés, quien visite Viana puede contemplar a boteiros recorriendo aldeas y los folións, amenizadores musicales del entroido vianés. I have always been attracted to folklore and especially if it is composed of tradition, color and "special" sense of humor. In Galicia you can find all this and more, for this reason, I am fascinated by this region and its culture and tradition attracts me.

It is not time, still, for carnivals but I will speak of the Galician Entroido, famous and peculiar, interesting and full of color. A stranger who does not deserve to be.

Not all entroidos are equal. Depending on what we like we can choose one or the other, for example, if we like the action we must see the cigarrons, screens, felines and peliquerios. If we want elegance then we have to go to Copper and Ulla but calm now I will explain each one of them and we can find.

The Galician entroido is fun and diverse but they also have history. Anthropologists place some of the showy carnival representations of Galicia among the oldest on the peninsula.

The community has 8 declared holiday parties of tourist interest. But there are others of great value, as the case of Salceda Bear, merdeiros and shocks among others.

In addition, it has the foliada, a satirical representation in which all the characters of the mountain carnival participate. Perhaps it is the best known entroido, called the magic triangle that make up the concellos of Verín, Laza and Xinzo de Limia, carnival very studied by the anthropologist Buero Vallejo. In this area the carnival is lived intensely and prolonged.

Carnaval Xenerais

Verín, with his elegant cigar, covered his face with strange eyes and bad grapes, which heats the pedestrians with a whip and that some place their origin in an intransigent tax collector. The Xenerais da Ulla have as protagonists the horses. There are references of its celebration in century XIX, and its origin could be in the burlesque of the war. Carnaval Xinzo

Xenerais da Ulla: A surreal wink that mocks wars.
