Este es un lugar donde se dice
que el agua de su manantial en primavera aumenta nuestro Qi ( energía).
La verdad es que solo
contemplarlo ya renueva ese Qi sin darnos cuenta.
El nombre, Taroko, significa
"magnífica y hermosa" en el idioma truku de la tribu indígena truku.
Hace mucho tiempo, un miembro de la tribu truku vio la belleza del Pacífico
azul cuando salió de la garganta. Al ver la magnífica escena, gritó
"Taroko". Y así se convirtió en el nombre de aquel lugar, de una
manera no muy diferente a la forma en la isla, Formosa, obtuvo su nombre.
Taroko Gorge y sus alrededores
son bien conocidos por su abundante oferta de mármol , dando lugar a su apodo ,
" La Garganta del mármol" . La roca ahora se ve en Taroko comenzó
hace más de 200 millones años, como sedimento en el fondo del océano . A medida
que el sedimento recogido , fue objeto de cada vez más grandes cantidades de
presión que con el tiempo se endurecieron en piedra caliza. Durante los últimos
100 millones de años, la compresión tectónica entre la placa del Mar de
Filipinas y la Placa Euroasiática suministra una presión adicional que
transformó la piedra caliza en mármol. Fuerzas eleva de la colisión de placas
empujaron esta piedra por encima de la superficie del océano hasta donde lo
vemos hoy .
La región todavía está siendo elevado por aproximadamente 0,5 cm
por año .
El desfiladero fue tallado en el
mármol por el poder erosivo del río Liwu .
Además, se sabe que son de jade
en esta garganta . El jade se encuentra solamente en Taiwán y el jade de esta
área abastece el mercado de jade en Hualien . Estas montañas se pueden ver
desde el rafting ( una actividad común durante los meses de verano en Taroko
Gorge ) a través de los ríos .
El tupido Tribu Trail fue
construida por la familia Batto Bulego de Taroko hace unos 120 años, y ahora
sólo partes de sus ruinas permanecen en el Tianhsyang mesa . Cuatro
generaciones de la familia residió allí hasta que el ejército japonés masacró a

Another magical and also considered sacred by
the legend is Taroko gorges. Place that hides a special mysticism and
spirituality special. They are places where you can recharge your energy and
connect with our inner world and to be reborn.
This is a place where it is said that the water
from its source in spring increases our Qi (energy).
The truth is that only contemplate and renew
the Qi without realizing it.
The name, Taroko, means "magnificent and
beautiful" in the Truku language
Taroko Gorge and its surrounding area are well
known for their abundant supply of marble, leading to its nickname, "The
Marble Gorge". The rock now seen in Taroko began over 200 million years
ago as sediment on the bottom of the ocean. As the sediment collected, it was
subject to increasingly large amounts of pressure which eventually hardened it
into limestone. Over the past 100 million years, tectonic compression between
the Philippine Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate supplied additional pressure
that metamorphosed the limestone into marble. Uplifting forces from the plate
collision pushed this rock above the surface of the ocean to where we see it
today. The region is still being uplifted by approximately 0.5 cm per year.
The gorge itself was carved into the marble by
the erosive power of the Liwu River.
In addition, there are known to be jade in this
gorge. This jade is only found in Taiwan and the jade from this area supplies
the jade market in Hualien. These mountains can be seen from rafting (a common
activity during summer months in Taroko Gorge) through the rivers.
The Tupido Tribe Trail was built by the Batto
Bulego family of Taroko some 120 years ago, and now only parts of its ruins
remain on the Tianhsyang mesa . Four generations of the family resided there
until the Japanese army massacred the tribe and banished the survivors in 1914.
