SANHATTAN
El primer día que pise Santiago y cogimos el taxi , una de
las zonas que más
Sanhattan es la denominación popular que recibe un sector de
Santiago de Chile ubicado en el límite de las comunas de Providencia, Las
Condes y Vitacura, al oriente de la ciudad. El sector cuenta con una gran
cantidad de modernos edificios de oficinas y se ha convertido a partir de los
años 1990 en el principal centro financiero de la capital, desplazando al
tradicional centro de Santiago.
Sanhattan como unidad arquitectónica comenzó a fines de los
años 80, cuando algunos grupos financieros se trasladaron desde el centro de la
ciudad hacia el sector oriente creando lo que se conoce como midtown, o centro
alto de la ciudad, a medio camino entre los barrios residenciales de clase
acomodada y el centro histórico.
En 2006 se comenzó a construir el complejo Costanera Center,
el cual tendrá la Gran Torre Santiago, que se convertirá en el rascacielos más
alto de Sudamérica, en el edificio comercial más alto de América Latina y en el
segundo más alto del Hemisferio Sur con una altitud de 300 m y 70 pisos. El
complejo, además de la Gran Torre Santiago, incluirá dos hoteles cinco
estrellas, un mall de 7 niveles y dos torres "gemelas" de 41 pisos.
Junto a Costanera Center, se dio inicio en el mismo año la
construcción del edificio Titanium La Portada de 55 pisos y 194,0 m2 de altura,
el cual se convirtió en el edificio más alto de Chile en el año 2010, siendo
superado meses después por la Gran Torre Santiago. Ambos complejos quedan muy
cerca del edificio World Trade Center y de una serie de proyectos, convirtiendo
definitivamente a Sanhattan como el centro comercial y financiero más
importante de Santiago. Así, al año 2010 se tenía una superficie de 247 mil m²
de oficinas, muy por sobre los 120 mil m² al año 2007. (si queréis más

Ayer estuve de visita por la ciudad y después de visitar el
centro , me fui a la zona de El Golf que es la parada de metro ( línea roja)
que está cerca de Sanhattan.
La verdad es que entre el día maravilloso que hacía y los
edificios de cristal limpios, aquello era como estar en EEUU, sinceramente.
La Avda. Apoquindo, estaba abarrotada. El tráfico era
imparable, las vías neurálgicas de la ciudad estaban colapsadas, las calles con
gente andando para un lado y otro buscando el banco, la empresa que tenía que
visitar, los extranjeros mirando atónitos las estructuras…
Todo un espectáculo. En este lugar conviven las grandes
estructuras de empresa con los barrios lujosos y aposentados de la ciudad con
bloques muy altos y de aspecto bonito y cuidado y las casas ajardinadas.
Restaurantes por doquier, con buen aspecto, con servicio cuidado, comidas de
todo tipo, fastfood, vegetarianos, carnes, etc… aquí gusta de cuidar la línea y
mirar lo que se come. Todo es muy fresco y sano.
Luego continué andando hacía Alcántara donde prácticamente
todo son viviendas en
bloques también cuidados y ajardinados con caché,
porteros, calles limpias ( toda la ciudad es muy limpia) y menos colapsado de
coches al concentrarse solo viviendas y casas y ser una hora de trabajo.
En esta zona se concentran gran cantidad de embajadas del
mundo. Una de las calles que más me gusto fue Gertrudis Echenique , realmente
bonito, sin nada en particular pero era un lugar con tranquilidad.
Una vez visto esto continué a Escuela Militar , entre avda
Apoquindo y Avda Américo Vespucio el colapso de coches era tremendo. Es una
zona donde hay mucha universidad y una de las salidas para poder conectar con
las autopistas, así que imaginaros.

The first
day I walked on Santiago and took the taxi, one of the areas that most
impressed me was a tall glass buildings with printing. They had several and
they were all located in the same area and asked - is the financial center? And
the answer was yes, is the new financial center called Sanhattan. I was
surprised because the name had not heard but I stay in memory.
Sanhattan
is the popular name for receiving a sector of Santiago de Chile is located on
the border of the districts of Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura, east of

Sanhattan

Yesterday I
visited the town and after visiting the center, I went to the El Golf is the
metro stop (red line) which is near Sanhattan.
The truth
is that the day was wonderful and clean glass buildings, it was like being in
the U.S., frankly.
The
Apoquindo Avenue, was crowded. Traffic was unstoppable, neuralgic roads were
jammed city, the streets with people walking to and fro looking for the bank,
the company had to visit, looking astonished foreigners structures ...
Quite a
show. Here live large company structures and aposentados luxurious
neighborhoods of the city with very high blocks and nice-looking houses and
garden care. Restaurants everywhere, good looking, caring service, all meals,
fast food, vegetarian, meat, etc ... here like to care line and watch what you
eat. Everything is very fresh and healthy.
Then I
continued walking towards Alcantara where virtually all homes are well kept and
landscaped block with cache, porters, clean streets (the whole city is very
clean) and less car collapsed to concentrate only apartments and houses and be
an hour of work.
In this
area are concentrated many embassies worldwide. One of the streets that I liked
was Gertrudis Echenique, really nice, with nothing in particular but it was a
quiet place.
Once seen
this continued to military school, among ave Apoquindo and Amerigo Vespucci Ave
Car collapse was tremendous. It is an area where many university and one of the
outputs to connect to highways, so imagine.
