Lugo es famosa por muchos
aspectos culturales e
El Arde Lucus es una fiesta de
interés turístico nacional y no hay para menos cuando vemos que toda la ciudad
participa de ella, se visten de romanos y viven la experiencia de manera
inigualable. Os invito a ir el próximo año. No os defraudará.
Un millar de representantes de
las cerca de medio centenar de asociaciones que organizan actividades en la
ciudad durante este interminable fin de semana, desde las lucenses hasta las
llegadas de Rumania, Italia o Portugal, lucieron sus mejores galas en esta
procesión que transitó alrededor de la muralla. La ronda de este monumento casi
bimilenario se convirtió en una pasarela a la que solo le faltó la alfombra
roja.
Hay muchos eventos organizados en
el entorno de esta fiesta, pequeños desfiles, el desfile grande, guerras de
gladiadores, etc… adjunto un mapa de ubicación de eventos abajo.
Su gran desfile
PRÓCERES. El césar de Lucus
Augusti, que iba escoltado por la Guardia Pretoriana, encabezó el desfile. Se
dio un baño de multitudes. Fue un inmejorable escaparate para mostrar sus
logros ante sus súbditos. En el cortejo también marcharon importantes próceres
de la urbe como el legado de César Augusto y fundador de la ciudad, Paulo Fabio
Máximo, y el general de las tropas y senador Caio Antistio.
Una de las novedades de este año
en el desfile fue que, a la altura de A Mosqueira, se encontraba un maestro de
ceremonias, Marcio Flavio. A través de megafonía, este centurión de la Legio VI
Victrix de la vecina Asturica Augusta (Astorga) hizo una breve reseña sobre
cada asociación participante.
El desfile fue uno de los platos
fuertes de la segunda jornada de Arde Lucus, en la que las condiciones
meteorológicas se repusieron, tras una jornada inaugural en la que la lluvia
fue un amenazante invitado más a la fiesta, aunque continúan siendo impropias
de un veraniego mes de julio. Ni hizo mucho calor para que los castrexos
pudiesen soportar sus pieles, ni tanto frío como para que al pueblo romano no
le bastase con una capa para abrigarse. Si bien, este año los pantalones
vaqueros, las camisetas y los jerseys se imponen al cuero, el esparto o las
corazas. Desde luego yo iba con vestido de tirantes y sude.
La urbe se abría a los
visitantes, mientras que su pulmón verde permanecía cerrado durante todo el
día, por motivos de seguridad, debido a que a medianoche se iba a representar
la quema de la moenium.
Tras el espectáculo pirotécnico,
de madrugada el parque Rosalía de Castro fue asaltado por otra tribu, la de
jóvenes de vacaciones ávidos de botellón. A media tarde, en sus cuestas, un
centenar de adolescentes calentaban motores con una batalla de gallos, en la
que los raperos se retaron con letras incisivas.
Entre las tropas romanas y las
tribus castrexas también se coló ayer algún que otro grupo que está celebrando
una despedida de soltera.
Durante el día la fiesta fue
familiar. Padres e hijos caracterizados recorrieron los enclaves del casco
histórico para presenciar los diferentes espectáculos. Este año el Concello de
Lugo ha programado 300, 40 de ellos novedosos. La noche ya es más movida.
En esta segunda jornada se
recrearon actividades propias de la época, como talleres de elaboración de
jabones y perfumes, cuero, cerámica, alfarería o forja; una exposición de
plantas medicinales; las tradicionales bodas y bautizos romanos y celtas; venta
de esclavos; desfile de antorchas; formaciones de combate y más de un rifirrafe
entre romanos y castrexos.
Ante el aluvión de visitantes que
se registró este sábado, los hosteleros del casco histórico de la ciudad
aprovecharon cada metro cuadrado de las calles y plazas para instalar mesas en
las que dar de comer al hambriento y de beber al sediento.
Esta es la primera vez que el
Arde Lucus se celebra en el mes de julio. Esto ha supuesto la marcha de
lucenses hacia su destino de vacaciones, pero también la llegada de turistas
que veranean en A Mariña o en otras localidades marítimas gallegas. Así que es
fácil encontrarse con visitantes con la cámara fotográfica colgando del cuello
y en las manos alguno de los 45.000 programas impresos para no perderse detalle

Aquí tenéis algunos de los
eventos con horarios incluidos.
Castra y Macellum 11.00 horas. En la Castra siete colectivos
escenifican la vida de los romanos y los castrexos.
El Macellum es el mercado. Lucha de gladiadores 12.00, 18.30 y 23.00 horas. En la Praza de
Santa María habrá dos exhibiciones a cargo del grupo italiano Ars Dimicandi.
Por la noche será en San Marcos. Tambores de Braga 14.30 y 19.00 horas. Este colectivo animará
las calles del centro de la ciudad, cuyas terrazas estarán llenas de
visitantes.
Bautizos y bodas 20.00, 21.30 y 23.15 horas. En Porta Miñá, a
las ocho, bautizos celtas; mientras que a las nueve y media en la Praza Maior
serán las bodas romanas. Las bodas celtas, a las 23.15 horas en Porta
Miñá.
Gran desfile 20.30 horas. Hasta 44 colectivos de Galicia,
el resto de España y el extranjero desfilarán por la Ronda da Muralla. La
salida será del tramo peatonal.
