ella.

This morning at 12h has begun the transfer of
thrones of the brotherhoods to the Church of Santiago, Totana. Everything was
perfect, the weather, the temperature, the light, and of course, some thrones
that dazzled and captivated attendees by its beauty.
The procession consisted of 17 thrones or steps
that left their respective brotherhoods and were taken to the Church of
Santiago.
Each throne, before entering the church
worshiped and respected the front door, being rocked and lifted, dancing in
front of her.
Each brotherhood has its own colors and healthy
rivalry is evident, to make it right or perfect, to solemnly thrust the throne
to the church, to raise it to pulse to be able to see the majesty, light steps
but controlled by the music of drums, horns and trumpets ... Any new sample is
a plus to attract attention and prove that they are better than the rest of
brotherhoods.
It has been beautiful, colorful and emotional.
To see how the people who made up the confraternities gave everything, were
excited and did not spare in effort is something incredible that makes the
visitors feel that euphoria and passion.
A Holy Thursday, emotional and accompanying all
this display of passions, the people with their best galas supporting the event
with pride and commitment. They admire the cofradías and the symbolism of the
steps that walk proudly in the streets.
Only Good Friday all the totaneros dress in
black robe, white belt and sash of the color of the brotherhood.
In this procession is mixed religiosity and
earthly pleasures. The steps taken with honor and dedication but having a beer
when leaving the throne, go hand in hand. The costumes typical of each
brotherhood and the miniskirts of the companions ... the ends perfectly match
with respect and joy but with surprise as the religious culture is deeply rooted
in all. This is how the coexistence of Holy Week in Totana and the daily life
are written.
The whole procession was beautiful and
emotional but there were several thrones that captivated me, not only for its
size and beauty but for its graceful movements and the work behind all this.
Therefore, I would like to highlight some steps.
The first throne that surprised me was that of
the fall. Not only for its size and beauty, but because its wearers danced with
it as if carrying a pen; Step forward and backward, shake the image vigorously
but with devotion and honor. His pace was fast, agile under a sun of justice
that was already at that hour.
The Veronica was another shocking step before
entering the church due to her dancing in front of the main door and her
raising of arms, marking in the faces the effort and the strength that was
required to offer us all a show of devotion, fervor And suffering.
With the passage of Salome, the action was the
same, the rise of arms to make size important and to worship at the entrance of
the church. Perhaps more colorful since everything happened in the middle of
the square where everyone could contemplate the effort and anxieties of the
brothers.
Maria Magdalena, a step with rhythm and
scrupulously organized as far as the dance, took this image to rhythm of the
music perfectly coordinated.
As for the Samaritan woman, what struck me most
was her colorism. A colorism that honored this land of brightness and color. Of
joy and harmony.
There were many steps and unfair not to mention
all of them, therefore, I invite you to attend this event where devotion, color
and passion are mixed resulting in a religious and festive atmosphere for all
attendees.
