HIGHER FUNGI:
Coriolus versicolor
Other names: Kawaratake (in Japanese), yun zhi
(Chinese), tinderbox color, cloud mushroom, turkey tail.
Coriolus Active substances:
Stresses its two polysaccharides: The trametano
cresina and appears to be what give it its medicinal properties. The most
remarkable substance composition in Kawaratake is Krestin or PSK (β 1-4, 1-3, 1-6), derived equivalent
to Lentinan from Shiitake, and could be described as a substance Potenciadora
Defense breakfast (HDPs), unlike the bioactive substances such as interleukin-2
spectral selectivity in general location, and a short half-time in the body.
properties:
According to Professor Goro Chihara, Teikyo
University, for the treatment of infectious and degenerative diseases like
cancer, you should not rely solely on the use of chemotherapeutic or
immunotherapeutic agents, but also increase the intrinsic host defense
mechanisms .
That is, we can act against external pathogen
or against corrupted cell, but we can also strengthen the body so that it is
this who generate their own self-defense against aggression and acting.
In Japan, oncologists believe mycological
immunotherapy stimulates the host immune response, as it helps the patient's
own immune system to destroy cancer cells.
The responsible for this organic function are polysaccharides and extracts of
the fungi food of eastern origin. The most known are the Shiitake, Reishi,
Maitake, but from a decade ago, is used extensively in Japan another mushroom,
Coriolus versicolor or Kawaratake. This mushroom was presented in the X
International Congress of mucosal Immunology in Amsterdam in June 1999, after a
few preliminary studies carried out in England and Italy concerning the immune
function in patients with HIV-positive.
The doctors Yang, Chen, Kwok of the Department
of Physiology at the University of Hong Kong and of the Department of Pathology
Institute Xijing of Xi'an, China, have postulated in a publication in June 1992
that a fraction of the extract of the Coriolus versicolor was able to inhibit
the growth of leukemia cells with inoculated mice in a meaningful way and to
increase the levels of IgG (Immunoglobulin G or gamma globulin).
Another study was conducted in 1998 in the same
department at the University of Hong Kong with another fraction of an excerpt
from Coriolus was able to inhibit the proliferation of human cellular hepatomas
in 50% of the control group of the study.
As well we find ourselves with a food with a
broad spectrum within the basic immune dysfunctions, in addition to a
adaptógeno perfect to stay healthy and with more energy.
Indications:
may be
indicated in cases of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue already to enhance the
immune system the body fight more effectively against the Epstein-Barr virus
(seems to be one of the causing). Patients treated with Coriolus often
experience less fatigue.
It is precisely this improvement of the immune
system seems to be the responsible for its anticarcinogenic effect, antiviral,
antimicrobial. Its antioxidant properties may help the patient to decrease the
side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
It is studying its activity by inhibiting anti
metastatic capacity will be evaluated by means of metalloproteinases and other
related enzymes with metastasis. In the middle has been used traditionally to
treat hepatitis and other liver diseases. Traditional Chinese Medicine has also
been used for various respiratory disorders.
