tiempo.

NOIA NIGHT AND
CHARMS
This weekend I have been in Noia to make a
career. Do not be surprised in vain, I do not run, who ran was our friend
Antonio M. who is a born athlete.
I had never been but not just the short drive
surprised and fascinated.
Vistas de Noya y su paseo maritimo |
The Ria de Noia belongs to the Rias Baixas. The
river flows into this Tambre Laugh and Tambre waters are originating at its
confluence with the sea, a habitat in which the bivalves are developed, clams
and cockles, which are the economic engine of the surrounding villages .
According to popular legend, this town was
founded by Noah who arrived in these lands at the end of the flood, naming it
for his daughter, Noela or Noega. Thus the shield of the municipality is the
Ark with Noah looked out a window and dove coming with the olive branch.
Upon arrival, about 28 km from Louro or so, we
saw quite bustle, runners, athletes, supporters and companions from all sides
but the first thing I saw was the boardwalk surrounding the estuary winding
way.
I walked by him to accompany me all the way a
low wall that showed the sea in all its splendor as dusk approached. Beautiful
indeed.
From there we headed to Alameda, where the
start of the race would take place and where our friend had gone to get his
number. I was excited, not only for the visit but because I was excited to see
our friend running and I had invited to the event.
In that place was the City with its cloister,
which is not surprising when you know that the building is "built" in
the church of San Francisco in Alameda.
At the site of the former convent of San
Francisco, a Renaissance building, the Town Hall was built, building palaces
and other parts around the convent.
Having seen the departure of the racers, went
to wander a bit but soon returned to the mall to see the entrance to our hall,
which, incidentally, came third. It is an ax, I assure you.
Well according to the story of this wonderful
tour, we all went to dinner and then to continue visiting the historic center.
The first visit was the Church of San Martin.
It is located in the Plaza del Tapal in Noia.
It belongs to the style known as "gothic-sailor" be characterized by
a single nave church with very prominent buttresses to counter strong push for
robust arches supporting the roof. Highlights the beauty of its facade, divided
into three vertical bodies. At the extremes, the towers, which never saw the
rise to finish. To the left, was added a pyramidal roof on the steeple in the
sixteenth century. The tower on the right is the clock that gave the Marquis of
Moroi. In the center, a large rose window and the door, you have in your ear
drum shields of Castile and León and arms of the archbishop, with jambs in
which they represented the twelve apostles and Christ pointed arch that appears
in the first archivolted and the twelve figures of the elders of the
Apocalypse, following the formulas of Maestro Mateo del Portico de la Gloria of
Santiago de Compostela.
Then back to Louro with the joy of having met a
nice and cozy place, also with the joy of our friend Antonio was on the podium
after making a good time.
Regards
Montserrat A
