LAS FIESTAS DE GRACIA : BARCELONA CITY CENTER.

 

Dejad que hable de mi ciudad, por favooooor…

Si has estado en Barcelona entre el 15 y el 21 de agosto, no te habrás perdido la edición número 197 de la Festa Major de Gracia, la fiesta popular más conocida.

Durante esta semana las diferentes actividades y el ambiente de fiesta llenan las calles y plazas del barrio, decoradas por la gente que vive en Gracia. Este año muchos de ellos han utilizado productos reciclados para poder abaratar costes pero el resultado ha sido como siempre increíble y espectacular.

 Mucha gente se une a la fiesta y disfruta del ambiente en el pintoresco y divertido barrio, que hace tan sólo 116 años quedaba en las afueras de Barcelona y que ahora cuenta con una personalidad propia dentro de la gran ciudad.

Es un barrio especial lleno de gente joven con muchos niños, de diferentes etnias y culturas mezclando sabiamente la convivencia, experiencia y comunicación de cada una de ellas.

1º premio calle

Se organizan actividades durante toda la semana y a cualquier hora,  la diversión está asegurada. Aprovecha esta oportunidad ideal durante tu visita  ,si la haces coincidir con las fechas, para conocer la cultura local, hablarás con la gente del barrio y disfrutarás con las típicas tradiciones catalanas. Y lo mejor es que la Festa Major de Gracia es un evento completamente gratuito.

Estas son algunas de las actividades que no te podias perder.

Cada año se otorga un premio a la calle, la plaza y el balcón mejor decorados y los residentes del barrio se toman la competición muy en serio. Los vecinos se reúnen durante meses para convertir el barrio en un mundo de fantasía. Cada año se elige un tema diferente para inspirar el festival pero es un secreto que se mantiene hasta que comienza la fiesta.

2º premio de calle

La fiesta comienza con un gran desfile el día 15 de agosto (día festivo en la ciudad). Todos salen a la calle para involucrarse en la Festa Major, como los gegants (gigantes), los capgrossos (canebas grandes) y los dracs (dragones) junto a otras personalidades interesantes que te irán sentir como Alicia en el País de las Maravillas

Las “colles de castelleres” o torres humanas son una de las tradiciones más típicas de Cataluña, que llegan hasta los siete u ocho pisos de altura. Son una gran atracción del festival que casi increíble. Pero no solo podrás sorprenderte con la formación de las torres humanas, también verás como la torre se mueve mientras los castelleres caminan unos 200 metros entre dos de las principales plazas.

If you've been in Barcelona on 15 and 21 August, you will not have missed the 197 edition of the Festa Major de Gracia, the most popular festival.

During this week different activities and the party atmosphere filled the streets and squares of the district, appointed by the people living in Grace. This year many of them have used recycled products to reduce costs but the result was as always amazing and spectacular.

 Many people join the party and enjoy the ambiance of the quaint and fun neighborhood, which 116 years ago was just outside Barcelona and now has a personality of its own in the big city.

It is a special neighborhood full of young people with many children of different ethnicities and cultures mixing wisely coexistence and communication experience each.

There are activities throughout the week and at any time, the fun is guaranteed. Take advantage of this ideal opportunity for your visit, if you make it coincide with the dates, to know the local culture, speak with the local people and enjoy with typical Catalan traditions. And the best part is that the Festa Major de Gracia is a completely free event.

These are some of the activities that you could not lose.

Each year an award is given to the street, the square and the best decorated balcony and neighborhood residents take the competition very seriously. Neighbors gather for months to turn the neighborhood into a fantasy world. Each year we choose a different theme to inspire the festival but it remains a secret until the party starts.

The festival begins with a parade on the 15th of August (holiday in the city). All go out to engage in the Festa Major, as gegants (giants), the capgrossos (canebas large) and spawn (dragons) with other interesting personalities you will feel like Alice in Wonderland

The "colles of castelleres" or human towers are one of the typical traditions of Catalonia, reaching up to seven or eight stories high. They are a major attraction of the festival that almost unbelievable. But you will not only surprise with the formation of human towers, also see how the rook moves while castelleres walk about 200 meters between two of the main squares.
