Yo siempre he sido una Fan de Madonna , claro lo lleva mi
edad. Cuando
ella se hizo popular yo era jovencita pero no tanto como para no
entender su lucha por la mujer y su supervivencia en todos los sentidos.
He comprado todos sus discos, he bailado sus canciones y
hasta he llegado a “emularla” hace muchos años, pero sigue estando ahí, para
bien o para mal pero siempre dando ejemplo de mujer liberal, fuerte,
temperamental … pero sobre todo segura y contundente.
Pero su solidaridad no quedó solo en la música, poco a poco
fue abriendo el abanico de posibilidades no solo a sus negocios, que como todo
el mundo son varios y diferentes, también a su obra “filantrópica” para ayudar
a los niños y a las niñas sobre todo.
Ha habido comentarios de todo tipo, más duros y malos que
bueno, quizás con o sin razón sobre esta mujer tan polifacética que ha sabido
re inventarse y están en el candelero sin que se nos pase

El poder filantrópico de Madonna se hizo sentir con fuerza
en Nueva York, la ciudad en la que salió a subasta uno de los cuadros de la
cantante para recaudar fondos por las
Madonna ya había anunciado que lo obtenido iría a parar a la
fundación Ray of Light, encargada de la educación de niñas en países como
Afganistán, Pakistán, India y otros países. "No puedo aceptar un mundo
donde las mujeres y las niñas son heridas, tiroteadas o asesinadas por asistir
al colegio o por enseñar en colegios para niñas", ha señalado la cantante
en un comunicado reciente. "No tenemos tiempo de ser condescendientes".
La cantante ha subrayado que su intención al desprenderse de
la obra de Leger, seguidor del cubismo y amante del arte figurativo, era
"intercambiar algo valioso por algo que no tiene precio, la educación de
las niñas", una causa por la que lleva luchando durante años.
De hecho, la intérprete de 'Ray of Light' logró adoptar a
dos niños de Malawi, David y Mercy, aunque con la segunda tuvo que enfrentarse
a diversos problemas legales. En ese país africano ha dejado huella por haber
construido 10 escuelas.
