NESTING
Some time ago I read this word,
like so many other modernities, and I said, "What the hell is this?"
And I looked for it. Well, this is what in my time we called staying at home
doing nothing.
Now, this new word is
attributed to all the current or person staying at home doing what you fancy
like reading, listening to music, playing the guitar, drinking coffee ...
finally the "dolce far niente" to be able to disconnect and Reduce
stress.
Every day there is more new
vocabulary, which sometimes makes us doubt ourselves and the nice thing is that
every word considered modern is related to stress but we stress more to think
that two days of no search means to get off the knowledge in the Social
networks or among the most "in" humans.
Well, it's true, to stay the
whole weekend at home that the new therapeutic solution to reduce anxiety and
especially if your life is full of pleasant, interesting or boring trips,
stress, pressures, meetings and conversations ... making the vacancy Evolves
and becomes the best formula to disconnect from the daily routine, replenish
forces and save money, even if this is not the goal. Let's not fool ourselves
how many of us have gone to take something out of boredom or looking for an
excuse to go for a walk .... This trend began to be observed in North America
in the 1980s, when much of the population began to withdraw in its own right,
to reject social contact, and to allocate the money reserved for leisure to the
conditioning of their homes.
The reasons, for which this
behavior has been detected, would be several although it suggests that between
take away at home and on the letter, social networks, lack of personal time,
shopping from the couch, etc ... do not That "socialization" outside
the home is necessary.
It is also another way to enjoy
the home, our time, our partner, children, family ... since the current pace of
life is sometimes fast. This new social current is still something similar to
mindfulness, both cases are based on being present. "It's not about
deciding that it's better if you leave or be at home. The important thing is to
find the balance between socializing and being with oneself, and integrating
both parts. The key is listening, "says Paula Sánches Alarcón, a
psychotherapist.
Boredom is a feeling that we have
forgotten and that we have also learned to avoid something that is not always
positive because boredom helps to calm us down, to calm the mind and make the
person more altruistic and empathic. That is something we can all feel and
value. When we have the possibility of doing nothing, when we do something we
value it more and live it more intensely. But it is not simple since we have
become accustomed to staying in a constant activity that you have to take off
without anxiety, frustration or guilt. According to the psychologist, "it
is fundamental not to start doing that million things that we had accumulated,
but to allow ourselves spaces to do nothing. For some people,
"nothing" is reading a book, having tea or watching a movie. Nothing
is anything that helps to balance our stress and our excess energy. "
But to practice nesting not only
need an apartment, room, etc ... we also have the nicely decorated interior,
personal, comfortable and fit our needs and tastes. Let the place be well
ventilated, cool, quiet with no electronic gadgets nearby. Lighting is also
important. Natural light is the most adequate and that projects in us positive
energy and pleasant and restorative sensations. If we use electric light that
is not aggressive but that light enough to feel comfortable.
However, all this, add some
exercise is walking near the sea, mountain, or garden, movement is essential to
feel good and make stress as much rest on the couch is not always good. Keep in
mind that the human body is designed to be in motion, so do not forget to
activate us an hour a day at least.
As for the food, any healthy
thing is perfect, especially considering that we will not move too much, but if
we are exceptionally sweet or something more calories we can also pay homage to
it. Sometimes it is better to eat what you want and do not forbid taste and be
pecking many other things for wanting to replace that desire we have not met.
