TANZANIA: TARANGIRE BAOBAB PARC

Para quien haya leído el  pequeño príncipe , sabrá que en uno de sus capítulos habla sobre los baobab.

Hace muchos años que leí este libro infantil en francés pero de todo el libro solo una cosa se me metió en la cabeza, esos extraños árboles que nunca había visto ni oído hablar de ellos pero que tanto captaban mi interés.

Ayer estuvimos toda la tarde paseando por el parque de Baobab en Tarangire, Tanzania. Fue espectacular. Toda la explanada o extensión de terreno que visitamos estaba llena de acacias, típicas del país y complementada por baobab con sus enormes troncos y sus pobladas ramas de hojas verdes.

El perímetro de cada árbol tenía por lo menos 6 metros, sus ramas eran imposible de abrazar por su tamaño y la verdad es que eran imponentes, no solo por sus dimensiones , sino por la imagen de árbol real dando ese toque de infantilidad y de cuadro naïf que todos amamos. Muchos de ellos estaban con agujeros enormes , o bien dañada su corteza, nos comentaron que era debido a los elefantes que querían tomar el agua que sus troncos guardan  en su interior.

No solo el espectáculo de la naturaleza nos ofrecía árboles y sabana, también hermosos ríos en forma de meandros llenos de agua donde los elefantes y otros animales se bañaban en ellos.

Era espectacular, los ríos azules, la hierba verde y los animales paseando a sus anchas sin importarles el pasar de las horas.

En cuanto a fauna, se encontraron familias enteres de elefantes, leonas, gacelas, ñus y jabalíes.

Lo más espectacular fue la familia de elefantes incluido las crías, una de ellas un elefante de 1 semana que se dedicaba a jugar consigo mismo y que la madre no dejaba de controlar.

Fue una imagen divertida y tierna que será difícil de olvidar por su belleza y exclusividad del entorno.

TANZANIA: BAOBAB TARANGIRE PARC

For anyone who has read The Little Prince, you know that in one chapter discusses the baobab.

Many years ago I read this book in French children but the entire book is only one thing I had in my head, those strange trees that had never seen or heard of them but they both captured my interest.

Yesterday afternoon we were all walking in the park of Baobab in Tarangire, Tanzania. It was spectacular. All esplanade or tract of land we visited was full of acacias, typical of the country and complemented by its huge baobab tree trunks and branches bushy green leaves.

The perimeter of each tree was at least 6 meters, its branches were impossible to embrace their size and they were really impressive, not only for its size, but the image of real tree giving that touch of childishness and box naive we all love. Many of them were huge holes or damaged their bark, they told us it was because they wanted the elephants take their trunks water stored inside.

Not only the spectacle of nature gave us and savanna trees, also beautiful meandering rivers full of water where elephants and other animals are bathed in them.

It was spectacular, blue rivers, green grass and animals walking at ease no matter the hours passed.

As for fauna, were found enteres families of elephants, lions, gazelles, wildebeest and warthogs.

The most spectacular was the elephant family including calves, one of them an elephant in one week who used to play with himself and the mother kept control.

It was a funny and tender it will be hard to forget for its beauty and uniqueness of the environment.
