Frente al mar;
Justo a
B. A nuestra izquierda
No
B. Si proseguimos

BOLNUEVO: FROM
PUNTABELA BY THE CALAS DE BOLNUEVO TO THE BEACH OF PERCHELES WITH EROSIONES
In front of Bolnuevo Beach is this Natural
Heritage of the Region of Murcia: Bolnuevo erosions.
It is a place of easy access but you have to
take precautions with the sun, especially if you leave at 12 noon. Do not
forget that this is southeast and here the sun is present from 8 in the
morning. Wear sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and boots to walk comfortable, if you
make the trail, but sneakers, if you only go to the erosions. Perhaps the best
time to go with a
family would be from 9am to 11am that the sun is not so
strong.
By the way, do not forget the swimsuit as
the beaches in front or the pristine coves that are nearby are wonderful and
after an effort they feel great.
It's a Sunday excursion to go with the family
and we all enjoy a fantastic spot because of its surprising aspect, to see
something so nice on the side of the road. The locals no longer look around to
have it close and see it every day but it is curious to visit.
The Erosions of Bolnuevo is one of the most
attractive places of Mazarrón. A peculiar landscape, almost magical, in which
the erosion of wind and water have shaped the rocks capriciously. A quiet
place, next to the sea, to let the imagination fly. In fact, if we just focus
the view on this place, it gives us the feeling of being in a distant place.
Oceanfront; The wind and the rain have carved
over millions of years extravagant forms that have a great visual and
photographic appeal. They also serve as a gateway to the virgin beaches that
join Bolnuevo with the village of Puntas de Cal negre (Beach belonging to the Municipality
of Lorca).
It is a nice walk to oxygenate and free the
imagination. Its difficulty is low although it requires some effort by the
small ascents that can be found.
However, the most beautiful is yet to come, if
we continue with the car on the road, we will arrive at a roundabout where we
will leave the car and where the trail starts towards the beaches, nudists and
other textiles.
For this trail I suggest carrying water, boots
and cap plus sunscreen. If we follow the marked route without using the road,
with sneakers we will have enough but if we decide to use the "round"
road that marks a series of white concrete beacons, it is necessary to wear
boots and go with care because there are difficult stretches and Straits that
are not suitable for all audiences. They are not difficult but you have to be
very careful. The good part: the wonderful views that there are of the coast
and the flora that in the month of April is in full swing.
Well describe the path in a professional way so
that you have a guide: The coastal strip that runs through these itineraries is
one of the last coastal stretches almost intact that treasures the coast of
Murcia. Maybe because of its difficult access by car but not impossible. The
botanical, geological and landscape richness shelters the need for its total
protection. In a pioneering way in Spain was dedicated part of this coastal
area, formed by a succession of coves, to the practice of naturism. We could
say that the coastal area would be divided into three parts, the first of
textile beaches, the middle and more difficult access nudist beaches and the
third textile beach.
But I mentioned before, you have to prepare
before starting the route. Wear a cap, short boots to make the walk more
comfortable, sun cream and sunglasses. The bathing suit, indispensable, but if
it is not worn, we can choose a nude beach or bathe with the sports clothes we
wear, as I did. Only a requirement, respect for people who opt for these
beaches to practice nudism and enjoy nature in its purest state. These beaches
are separated enough or difficult to access as "to snoop", I think
there is room for everyone and respect is essential for coexistence, on the one
hand and on the other.
This trail is comfortable in general although
small efforts have to be made to overcome small ramps. It takes about 3 hours
to complete it but it is worth it as the views are amazing, full of light and
colorful landscapes. There are stretches of narrow path or irregular surface
but not very difficult. Beware, you have to be aware because the surroundings
are so beautiful that they can captivate us and attract our attention.
There are different routes and each one of them
with their distance but for example the red route: Playa de Cueva Lobos 1.6 km,
to the crossing point of the Green, Red and Blue routes 2 km, Playa de la Cúa
2.9 Km, Playa del Benzal 5.8 km and Playa de Percheles 8.7 km. (one way)
The Green route is 3 km (one way); Blue Tour:
2,9 km (one way); Yellow Tour: 1 km (one way). The sections marked in black are
two accesses by asphalted roads to the last part of the red route. We can use
them to pick us up by car.
The level in the green route is almost
non-existent.
The presence of "algae" in some of
the coves are indicative of the excellent quality of the surrounding waters.
This "seaweed" is the oceanic Posidonia that grows in submerged
grasslands near the shore. It is a true bioindicator of water quality and
serves as a nursery for many species. Although these algae are found here are
not easy to see and are no longer found on all beaches.
During the tour, we can see a vegetation
composed of cornice, palmito, esparto, albaida and thyme, being replaced in
some areas more conducive to watering by salted, sosas, barrillas and
evergreens.
This excursion is divided into several sections
depending on the energy or time available. You can mount several routes, some
of them circular, or you can reach the end at Playa de Percheles, which will
force us to return on our steps.
There are not many indications to make in the
first two kilometers approximately. Our way is clear. We can go in and out of
it to enjoy good views and give us some bath. The first one can be in the Mala
Piedra Creek, almost at the beginning. After a few hundred meters we will pass
along the short path that reaches the visible Playa de Cueva Lobos (1.5 km from
Puntabela). The Playa de Cueva Lobos receives its name as well as the islet
that is in front of her to be refuge of the Monk Seals. Until the 50s and 60s
they still lived in this area being popularly known as sea lions.
Just after this beach the road climbs a small
slope and turns to the right. We crossed a trench and descended keeping the
turn to the right, until reaching the bed of the rambla. We will see that the
rambla brings another path on the right. That is where we agree with the
previous path, the green path.
Whichever way we get to this point, those who
want to continue with the excursion further have two options:
A. Continue along the same road that we take
(red), recommended option for cyclists. It is the main road and the one used by
the cars to cross these places. As an advantage we can emphasize that it has no
problems of orientation although sometimes it is notably inland, but without
losing sight of the sea, crossing places of great beauty. Finally it also
reaches the beautiful beach or Cala del Hondón, where it coincides with the
blue path and the yellow path. It is somewhat longer but less rugged. From
Hondón, all the routes coincide in one until Percheles. The Hondón is an
easy-to-recognize cove because the red road passes right between it (on the
left) and an old house located between two troughs, with a straight road of
about 100 meters that joins it to the beach.
B. To our left the road that follows rambla
down until arriving at the Yellow Beach begins the blue route. From the right
area where the path to the beach arrives, there is an ascending path along the
edge of a cliff. This trail is the blue route.
It walks by mountains and ramblas in the Green
variant of the route of Puntabela by the Calas de Bolnuevo to the Beach of
Percheles.
If we want to take the green route, we will
leave the square on a paved road parallel to the sea. The beach is down to the
left and is known as Rincón de Bolnuevo. At about two hundred meters the
asphalt touches its end and the road forks in one descending and one ascending.
The path marked green in the picture begins here, taking the right ascending.
If our intention is to make a circular route through the green route and return
by the red when they cross both, we advise to start on the road to the right.
This accumulates most of the unevenness. We advise to make the return by the
left (red route), flatter and close to the sea and the beaches.
We start the ascending road on the right,
somewhat stony but through which cars pass. Serpenteamos the southern slope of
the Sierra de las Moreras, with some scattered houses. Continue an ascent with
some occasional respite, offering us some good views of the coves that we will
visit later. We do not have many difficulties as to the orientation as the way
is clear. Some other way can get us through, but we continue. About five
hundred meters from the last house, the road divides in two: the one on the
left surrounds the small hill, and the one on the right overcomes it by a hill
and then joins the hill. The difference in distance is small, but the one on
the left has better views.
Our road leads us to the place known as the
Picacho. A few hundred meters before reaching a small abandoned white building,
a road descends abruptly to the left. From here we continue down to the bed of
the Rambla del Picacho, which in a little more than a kilometer will lead us to
a crossroads frequently traveled. We just got to meet the red route.
We have three options to choose from:
A. Towards the right the red route is directed
towards the Beaches of La Crane (eye, it is the second detour to the left about
700 meters from here); To the Hondon, 2.8 km from here; To the Benzal, 3.5 km
from here and finally to Percheles Beach, 6.7 km from this point.
B. If we continue rambla down to about 400 mts
we arrive at Playa Amarilla. When arriving by the right a trail is born that is
the route marked in blue in the photograph.
C. And to the left, if we want to return to the
beginning (in about 30 min.), Making a circular route along the main road of
the Bolnuevo coves (in red). There are no possible confusions. We will pass
next to several coves: the biggest and first of them in this sense of the march
is the one of Cueva Lobos to about 500 mts. Source: visitamazarron.com
I hope you serve as a reference to make this
path that is wonderful.
