JUEGOS OLÍMPICOS: LONDRES 2012

REQUIEM A LA DECADENCIA

Creo que casi  nadie se perdió la gala de inauguración y de clausura de Londres 2012.

 Yo soy una enamorada de Inglaterra, estudié en Oxford y he estado en varias ocasiones en Londres capital, disfrutando de la libertad y de la especial cultura de molde irrompible de los ingleses. Sé que parece una contradicción pero Inglaterra es así de maravillosa.

Desde mi punto de vista, ambas Galas carecieron de impacto, chispa y universalidad, como cabría esperar en unos Juegos Olímpicos.

Puedo entender que un país que invierte una cantidad importante de dinero en unos Juegos Olímpicos, en los tiempos que corren para todos, pueda parecer una frivolidad y por tanto se deban y quieran recuperar pero creo que no hay nunca que mezclar, a estos niveles, unos JJOO con atraer al turismo, aunque cada uno en su casa hace lo que considera oportuno y más pagando, claro.

De todos modos, volviendo a las Galas, creo que hubo un exceso de “inglesismo”. Nos recordaron sus orígenes, su  historia y su evolución pero….¿No son JJOO?,¿no estamos hablando de un evento Universal? donde no está de más relacionar la historia de los JJOO con el esfuerzo, tesón, evolución de los mismos….

Creo que todos sabemos sobre la revolución Industrial inglesa, el sufragio universal, el cual respeto y doy gracias por la parte de que toca, pero…

Llegó la clausura , donde todos esperábamos lo que no vimos, garra, ambición, chispa un adiós apoteósico… claro no se pueden pedir peras al olmo pero desde mi punto de vista fue triste,  nostálgico y un tanto decadente. Entiendo que la idea era recuperar la inversión intentando atraer a los turistas, dándoles a conocer lo que fueron y lo que inventaron pero hombre, yo no hubiera mostrado todo el sequito de viejas glorias trasnochadas y ya decadentes que me produjeron un poco de tristeza por el paso del tiempo, que aunque no nos guste, el pasa a todo el mundo dando una imagen un tanto lamentable de no haber evolucionado más desde entonces. Entre muchas personas mezcladas en el inmenso escenario tuvimos el placer de ver:

·         Unas Spice Girls llenas de botox jugando a quinceañeras trasnochadas, pegando gritos emulando que fueron pero que ya están a años luz de eso.

·         Un Brian May que intentaba mostrar lo que fue pero que se me apareció como un fantasma del pasado con atuendo de la susodicha época incluido.

·         Vimos a “The Who” que ni sombre de lo que fueron. Y así podríamos seguir una gran lista que tampoco merecería la pena pues es justo valorar el esfuerzo aunque caigamos en el ridículo.

Mi madre siempre me decía: < hija, si haces algo grande en la vida, recuérdalo con amor y con la importancia que tuvo en ese momento pero no quieras repetirlo porque segundas partes nunca fueron buenas>.

Creo que se pudo haber dado otra imagen dejándonos un recuerdo más actualizado, moderno y vanguardista, tal y como siempre fue esta gran isla

(English) REQUIEM FOR DECLINE

 I think almost anyone missed the gala opening and closing in 2012.

 I am a lover of England, studied at Oxford and have been several times in London capital, enjoying the freedom and the special culture of the English unbreakable mold. I know it seems a contradiction but England is so wonderful.

 From my point of view, both Galas lacked impact, spark and universality, as one would expect in the Olympics.

 I can understand that a country that spends a significant amount of money in the Olympics, in these times for all, can seem frivolous and therefore should and want to recover but I think there is never to mix, at these levels, Olympics about to attract tourists, but everyone in your home do what is appropriate and more pay, of course.

 Anyway, back to the Finery, I think there was an excess of "inglesismo". We recalled its origins, its history and its evolution but .... Are not Olympics?, Are not we talking about a Universal event? where it is worth relating the history of the Olympics with the effort, tenacity, their evolution ....

I think we all know about the English industrial revolution, universal suffrage, which respect and thank you for the part you play, but ...

 He reached the conclusion, where all expected what we saw, claw, ambition, apotheosis spark goodbye ... of course you can not ask for the impossible but from my point of view was sad, nostalgic and somewhat decadent. I understand that the idea was payback trying to attract tourists, allowing them to know what they were and what they invented, but man, I had not shown the whole entourage beens outdated and decadent and gave me a little sad by the over time, although we do not like, the whole world passes giving a somewhat unfortunate not to have evolved since. Among many mixed on the huge stage had the pleasure of seeing:

 • Some Spice Girls playing full of botox teenagers nighters, hitting screams but emulating that were already light years ahead of that.

 • A May Brian trying to show what it was but it appeared to me like a ghost of the past with the above period attire included.

 • We saw "The Who" neither shadow of their former selves. We could go on a long list that would be worth it either fair value effort but fall into the ridiculous.

 My mother always told me: <daughter, if you do something great in life, remember with love and the importance it had at the time but do not want to repeat it because sequels are never good>.

 I think they could have given another image leaving a memory freshest, modern and edgy as always was this great island
