EL CLUB DE LAS MILLONARIAS

Cuando hablamos de dinero y millones siempre focalizamos en hombres y sus logros pero esta vez todo es diferente. Las millonarias de las que hablaremos son mujeres, mujeres hechas a sí mismas con orígenes humildes pero también daremos nombres de 5 millonarias que lo son debido a las herencias familiares de diferentes índoles.
Pero empecemos a hablar de las asiáticas que se han hecho a sí mismas, las estadounidenses y las europeas que han heredado sus inmensas fortunas. De una forma u otra, en los últimos 20 años la presencia femenina entre los que poseen más de mil millones de dólares se ha multiplicado por siete. Daremos los nombres de las 10 mujeres más ricas. Zhou Qunfei es una mujer discreta, elegante, exigente y una trabajadora infatigable. Su jet privado cruza con frecuencia el Pacífico, desde China y Hong Kong, donde están su hogar y la sede de su negocio, hasta Sillicon Valley, lugar en que  se ubica su mejor cliente, Apple. Su empresa, Lens Technology, es uno de los principales proveedores de las pantallas de vidrio de ordenadores portátiles, tablets y teléfonos móviles.  No es la mujer más rica del mundo, pero sí la que más dinero ha logrado ganar gracias a su propio esfuerzo. Es decir, cada dólar de los más de 7000 millones en los que se estima su patrimonio lo ha obtenido partiendo de la nada. Nació en un pueblo agrícola de la provincia  china de Hunan. Su madre murió cuando tenía cinco años y su padre se quedó ciego en un accidente laboral. Ella ayudaba a la economía familiar criando cerdos y patos. Era buena estudiante, pero abandonó el colegio y a los 16 años  se marchó a la ciudad para  buscarse la vida y dejar de ser una carga. Encontró empelo en una fábrica, puliendo cristal para relojes hasta la extenuación por poco más de un dólar al día. “Trabajaba de las ocho de la mañana  a la medianoche y , a veces, hasta las dos de la madrugada”. Se las arregló para conseguir un ascenso y, sin saberlo, dio así sus primeros pasos en el sector que la convertiría en la mujer más rica de China.

Según el estudio The Changing Faces of billionaires, elaborado por el banco suizo UBS y la consultora Pricewaterhouse Coopers, más del 80% de ellas proceden de EEUU y Europa, mientras que Asia tiene el mayor crecimiento en el número de las hechas a sí mismas. Hace 10 años solo había tres asiáticas. Hoy son 25 y más de la mitad son empresarias de primera generación.
Elena Ferreras, experta en cuestiones de género del Banco Europeo para la Reconstrucción y el Desarrollo, esboza una explicación: “China ha sido durante años la economía que más crecía. No lidera en materia de igualdad, pero es verdad que en los países emergentes de Asia suceden cosas interesantes, como la elevada presencia femenina en los consejos de administración”. Según el último informe de la consultora Grant Thornton este país encabeza el ranking mundial de directivas, con un porcentaje del 51%. Para Isabel Perea, “las altas tasas de crecimiento en los países emergentes conllevan una gran demanda de profesionales cualificados, lo que ha ayudado a derribar los prejuicios y barreras a los que se enfrentan las mujeres”.

Según analizan los autores delinforme The Chaging Faces of Billionaires, a medida que cambian las horas culturales las mujeres que han heredado la riqueza son cada vez más asertivas y están tomando posiciones en puestos ejecutivos, poniéndose a los mandos y liderando proyectos filantrópicos. Ejercen un poder considerable sobre la estrategia de negocio y la toma de decisiones con el empeño de hacer que el legado dure. “las que heredan imperios empresariales de sus maridos o padres están más dispuesta que su homólogos masculinos a tomar la iniciativa, metiéndose de lleno en los zapatos del patriarca y, a  menudo, conduciendo la expansión las siguiente nivel”.

Jacqueline Mars: 76 años; 26600 millones de dólares. Es la nieta del emprendedor de la compañía Mars, imperio dedicado a la producción de dulce más grande del mundo, qu produce M&Ms, barras Mars  o sniker’s.

Maria Franca Fissolo: 89años; 23400 millones de dólares. Michele Ferrero, dueño de Nutella, Kinder y Ferrero Rocher, falleció en 2014 cediéndole el testigo a su esposa como la persona más rica de Italia.

Zhang Yin: 48 años; 4100 millones de dólares. En 1994 invirtió 30000 yuanes para crear Nine Dragons Paper Holdings, una empresa de reciclaje que hoy provee de papel y cajas a Nike o Sony.
