rotonda.
De hecho es Parque Natural de
Fragas do Eume.

Antonio’s.

PONTE DEUME A
CAAVEIRO
Galicia never cease to amaze and even less
offer wonderful places where thinking while walk through endless trails
surrounded by trees with every shade of green possible to imagine.
Water and green on all sides and corners;
noises of streams, waterfalls smelling green nature moisture but most
importantly, smell wild life and purity.
I decided, along with my friends Antonios, make
a 4 hour hike to see the monastery Caaveiro.
Fragas Eume are one of the greatest natural
paradises Atlantic Europe; not surprisingly, is considered a unique biological
reserves of Atlantic Forest in the Old Continent. Located in the province of A
Coruña (Galicia), this park stretches along the banks of river Eume in a total
of 9,126 acres and has the protection of European Protected Areas Network.
The national park includes the villages of
Cabanas, A Capela, Monfero, Pontedeume and As Pontes de García Rodríguez. And
here there are up to 20 hiking trails that we provide 100 miles of hiking
through a magical, enchanting, lush and full of myths and legends environment.
To get there we need to go from the A-9,
section A Coruña-Ferrol, we have to take the exit Pontedeume and reach the
center of the town across the bridge to the left at the roundabout.
In fact it is Natural Park Fragas Eume. These
Fragas have several hiking trails of different levels so that the arrival to
the monastery is not difficult and there are now less available to customers or
visitors buses that take you to the Monastery.
Anyway, it is worth continuing the path that
you indicate to get the information point where normally offer you a map and
show you as follow to reach the destination, the Monastery.
A trail runs along the river, which can not
only let exercise and walking, it also makes your senses fly and you can see
the wonder of nature. This trail takes you to the Monastery and the truth is
that it is pretty well marked and it is not difficult but you have to know that
they are 8km round with some other ledge. It passes through groves, bridges,
during the walk you can see rooms to eat with the family at the river,
everything is meticulously prepared to enjoy the scenery.
When you're about to reach the monastery must
say you get a little tired but if you do you will see that the effort was worth
it. Not everyone can do be alarmed because this path is not difficult.
Upon arrival we located on a rocky knoll
between Sesín Eume and rivers in the forest Eume incomparable beauty, is this
monastery underwent numerous interventions throughout its history. Its origins
date back to the tenth century, which have the first news of the existence of
monastic life here. It belongs to the order of the monastery of San Benito and
were later the Canons Regular of St. Augustine
This is a collection of buildings, some already
disappeared: the main church, the Church of Santa Isabel, cells, chapter,
sacristy, bell, etc.
"Legend has it that a rainy winter morning
in Caaveiro, San Rosendo stood up and seeing the evil day that had complained
upset. When he realized his sin and the weather was divine. He decided to throw
the River Eume his episcopal ring as penance. Seven years later, while Caaveiro
chef preparing lunch for the monks, opened a salmon and within the intestines
of the fish, found the ring in San Rosendo. He quickly communicated bishop,
thanking God who realized that his sin had been redeemed. "
Well, it is best to encourage you to do it and
I leave several photos taken by Antonio Martinez, one of Antonio's.
